This story has the merits of being true, short, and relevant to the "discussion" that has been taking place over the past couple of weeks.
Two or three years ago I was taking the dog for his usual final walk of the day at about 10.30 p.m. I turned out of a side street back on to the main road, and about 40 yards ahead there is a bus shelter. This was occupied by two teenage girls talking loudly and doing a lot of giggling.
It was cold and wintry, and they were well wrapped up in baggy sweaters and shapeless pants, which did nothing to reveal their figures. I am a hopeless judge of age at the best of times, and their attire made it even more difficult, but I would put them at between 14 and 19, with a best guess of 16.
As I approached the better looking one of the two was pacing up and down, and as I got closer she put her hand between her legs and gave a little bob. I walked forward as slowly as I could, but unusually for him the dog was pulling at his lead. Normally he stops to sniff every couple of feet, but that night he was obviously cold and wanting to get home.
The nearer I got, the more desperation moves this girl was showing, and when I got adjacent to the shelter I was stunned when she looked straight at me and said loudly, "I want to piss." What would have happened if I had been on my own I really do not know. Would I have stayed to chat? Would I have said, "Go on then, do it"? Hypothetical questions!
As it was the dog was pulling harder than ever, so I just gave her a little smile and walked on. About ten yards past the shelter the dog found an interesting turd to sniff, so I stopped and looked back. The girls had left the shelter and were squatting by a hedge on a patch of grass nearby.
When they saw me look back they stood up, and alas their pants weren't around their knees. They weren't peeing. One of them shouted, "Only joking!" so I shouted back, "Nice one", gave them another smile and continued home.
That's the story, now the analysis. The fact is that I saw nothing, but I might have done. The fact is that they were probably over 16, but they might not have been. The fact is that I don't have a camcorder, but if I had filmed the episode and put it on youtube, would the link have ended up on here? Most importantly, if they had actually been peeing and I had been invited for a closer look, would I have had to insist on ID before accepting the offer?
