The same is true for a lot of online communities. People go there to escape the frustrating qualities of "real life." But there is no other life than the real life, and a message board isn't really an escape.
"Second Life" in my opinion is a kind of euphemism to suicide. It's a dead end street. There is only one life, and it's here and it's now. Don't let it get you down, in the end living your life is far more rewarding than reading stuff from a dumb computer monitor.
