Hmmm, interesting. I am thinking of trying something very similar with my girl soon. I can't help with the smell, and personally I don't really like the smell anyway.
I believe brownie mix is supposed to be a fairly reasonable substitute.
The attraction as I see it means that I don't have to ask my partner to do something that she finds unpleasant, and we can make love without any risk of infection or illness.
Didn't Arthur Saxon once post his fake poop recipe that he made for some incredible fake pp pictures? Now I would like to know what he used...
