So, why was Paula Jane Radcliffe in a half-marathon?
No, really...Radcliffe, from Britain, is notorious for having tummy trouble during events. At the '04 Olympics in Athens, she was leading near the finish when she suddenly broke down and had to drop out. She later admitted to pooping herself (luckily for her, it was dark). Later, in a London marathon, she ran to the side of the track, squatted, pulled one leg of her shorts aside and let fly some runny poop. THAT was captured on LIVE TV (the video can be found online somewhere), and Paula later apologized after she won the race.
Finally, diarrhea might run down one leg or the other if your clothes or underpants are sitting a certain way. A few years ago I saw an older woman who'd had an explosive attack; all of it was down her left leg, and her sock was soaked as well.
