hmmm, try to think of contingencies, plan it out so that you feel as though you can easily avoid anything bad happening. I don't know where you live, but it's really not that risky where
i live, provided that you don't confront anyone, loiter or engage in visibly lewd conduct (like masturbating or deliberately exposing yourself). If somebody confronts you, you have many evasive options available to you. You can deny it, claim it was some kind of accident, blame it on a condition, or simply walk away.
In reality, I don't think it requires a great deal of courage, just confidence that it's fairly low risk. But if you're convinced that something really bad is likely to happen, then of course the idea of going ahead with it is going to paralysing.
