I read about fear as the cuase of accidents once in awhile here....today I was reading an article on the first year of duty for a young female cop. Sort of like a "day in the life of..." bio on her experiences.
In one passage I found this:
"Officer Pohl (that's the female cop) walked to the rear of the warehouse, near the exit, gun drawn and expecting the worst. Nrevous but focused, she slowy drew near the end of the warehouse wall and then peered around the corner, ready to fire. Instead she found the suspect apparently unarmed now, huddled against the locked door of the trash container compartment, and bent over at the knees while feebly attempting to hold his hands empty, outstretched hands, indicating he was surrendering. Approaching cautiously, while radioing her fellow officers that she had located the burglar, Pohl heard him babble something incoherent, his lips trembling in fear, eyes wide-open and then noticed the puddle forming at his feet, and the faint but certain sound of flatulance accompanying the bowel movement he was having in his trousers. Smirking, she shouted for the suspect to freeze as he lost full control of his functions and began to whimper."
Wow! Surely this is an example of a well-written account of a bad guy fear accident! Loved it!
