come on guys.
telling him it's illegal and stuff like that is NOT in ANY possible way going to help him. he already knows that it is wrong. if you want to help him, at least Try to think what might be helpful.
like the first posters tried.
things like "you might end up in prison" etc etc is just stupid to say, when in this situation. REMEMBER, he is trying to be better, so cut down on the moral panic already!
