Look up "Kink Aware Professionals" and use their referral list a psychologist who actually understands human sexuality. While extinguishing a fetish all together is difficult, there are techniques that you can learn to keep it from dominating your life.
Dr. Gloria Brame's books are a good starting point to learn about fetishes in general. Although our particular fetish is not specifically covered in her work, there is enough information presented in her books "Different Loving" and "Come Hither" for the reader to understand the dynamics as well as diversity of non-traditional sexual interests.
WARNING: Just because someone is a PHD or MD does not guarantee that they have a clue about fetishes. Going to a doc who is clueless could cause you more harm, especially if a therapist has a religious agenda and/or pushes "reperation therapy" on you. So do your homework before choosing a psychologist or psychiatrist.
