Hi guys! Thanks to all those of you who have responded! I get the message: take things slowly. Will do!
Last night was so, so wonderful. I have never, ever felt such love for anyone - boyfriend-girlfriend love and daddy-little girl love at the same time. It was amazing.
We went to Toys R Us, which now has a baby section called Babies R Us. Anyway, we were after a bottle and we found a really cute Winnie the Pooh one that we both liked. We were going to buy a bib, too, but all the cute ones were really tiny.
Back home, and after dinner, we went to bed and I fed her her first bottle of warm milk for about 30 years. She suckled like a natural and looked so peaceful and beautiful. I felt an amazing sense of love and caring, as I looked at her, eyes closed, and then looking into mine, then closed again.
After five minutes, she finished the milk and we just lay there, cuddling. It was so, so special. I then remembered that I'd got a brand new dummy (pacifier) so dug that out and she suckled away happily on that, too.
She eventually fell asleep and I just watched her sleeping for about half an hour, dummy in mouth, looking as cute as a button. Today she texted me to say she'd never felt so cherished.
So, all in all, life's pretty darned wonderful at the moment! Yay me!
