It isn't your bladder so much as your brain. Most of us were taught as a child how to control our bladders and it is overcoming that and regressing to a state where your brain lets your bladder empty freely when asleep. I reached this goal a while ago now and wet my bed most nights.
Your bladder will of course weaken over a period of time and you are unlikely ever to regain complete control if you allow your self to wet freely in your sleep for a long time.
One thing that did suprise me was how quick I lost almost all my control at night after I started wetting in my sleep. I went from wetting odd nights to wetting most nights in about 2 to 3 months. I have very few dry nights now.
So If you don't want the hassle of this you are right to try and find other ways to wet your bed. Sorry but I can't help there.
