Sometimes I forget that if I turn my overhead light on, it really makes the stains on my sheets show up as they're air drying. I eventually felt compelled to tell my landlady about my bedwetting because I knew she'd seen the evidence and I wanted her to know I had the mattress protected. It was still pretty embarrassing. Actually, it's still embarrassing at times, when I see her and realise she knows...
True funny ironic story:
When I was eleven, my family moved into a new house on an Army base; my room was in the basement. The previous occupant of the room had been a teenage girl who had had some sort of an "accident" on the mattress. A couple of my little friends came over to play before I had gotten the room set-up and they saw the stain and started making fun of me, saying things like,"Aww... look at that. What's wrong? Couldn't you hold it?"
I wasn't expecting that and I got so embarrassed, so quickly, that I almost wet my pants, something that would have made my explanation of the stain's source to them less convincing, I'm sure.
After that, any time I spent the night with them, I could not help but be quietly terrified that I would have an accident. Thankfully, I never did, though I seem to recall that I also never slept very well, either...
