My mattress never gets stained. That is the whole idea of a rubber sheet. Whenever I buy a new mattress, I always keep a thin vinyl cover on the mattress, then followed by a normal bed pad with a rubber shhet on top. If by chance the rubber sheet leaks, then the mattress paid will get a bit pee stained, but the mattress stays protected.
