I took a couple of disposables in my hand luggage on a flight from London to Boston. I actually made it through security, then got randomly picked out of a line with a few others as we entered the waiting area at the gate.
It was extremely embarassing especially as I had co-workers on the same flight, who were thankfully not with me directly but I wasn't sure whether they were already in the room waiting. I told the lady that was checking that I had a medical problem and would appreciate it if she could be discreet, which she was.
I then could not believe it when, at Washington for our change over, I got pulled randomly AGAIN! Fortunately I got taken to one side behind a screen and checked there, so again I came clean to a very scary looking US airport security guard and he didn't even bat an eyelid.
