If you're that worried you could always just make sure it doesn't have internet connectivity unless you're playing it.
Probably they get tons of those responses where people hit "yes" and they get info on specific ps3s. Too many for them to individually inspect each and every problem (as in, remotely logging in and checking to see what's up).
Also, those prompts often are just statistics gathering services designed to spot potential problem areas. In order to avoid any possible privacy issues they ask before automatically downloading stats from your machine. This sort of thing wouldn't involve sending random files from your hard drive to them, as that wouldn't be particularly informative.
