I have pooped in my diaper in public, it's a wonderful feeling to not have to take a break and find a bathroom, but it can smell bad, so you should distance yourself from people if you can help it.
The best reaction would be your choice. It depends how you feel about embarrassment and being caught. If you like to be caught and someone pointing you out, then you might want a really stinky one. But if your scared and don't want that. Just be decret and try no to draw attention to yourself.
